By accessing and using Umami ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Umami is a community-driven platform for rating and reviewing restaurants, primarily focused on food experiences in San Francisco. The Service allows users to:
- Create an account with a username and profile
- Rate restaurants on multiple criteria
- View and compare ratings from the community
- Discover new restaurants through an interactive map
- Follow other users and view their reviews
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Maintain the security of your password
- Accept all responsibility for any activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
4. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit, post, or display on or through the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Umami a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
You agree that your User Content will not:

- Violate any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights
- Contain hateful, threatening, or discriminatory content
- Contain spam or unsolicited commercial content

5. Reviews and Ratings
All reviews and ratings should be based on your genuine personal experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that we believe are fraudulent, inappropriate, or violate these Terms.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
9. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL UMAMI BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
10. Account Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
